WITHOUT WARNING

WITHOUT WARNING by David Rosenfelt is great.  After his wife is murdered by her lover, police chiefJake Ribbins is faced with another disaster.  Someone is either out to get him or avenge Jake.  His hometown is flooded by a burst dam and the time capsule buried four years ago must be opened.  The capsule holds more than the city remembered being in it.  Who put these mysterious predictions in the capsule and why are they coming true.  A must read.

LOVERS AT THE CHAMELEON CLUB

LOVERS AT THE CHAMELEON CLUB by Francine Prose Is a bit difficult to follow.  Many voices tell the story. Lou is a muscular woman who is a very good athlete.  She is an Olympic track star, undercover agent, traitor, and cross dresser.  There are many accurate historical facts but too many voices.  At one point it is the writer, the girlfriend, and the photographer but all in first person.  I had to keep looking back or reminding myself who was speaking and then I would lose the thread of the story. I like learning the facts, and about the people but want to enjoy a book not struggle to keep it reading smoothly.
